Description
The cranberry is a fruit native to North America. It is successfully cultivated there as a crop although smaller areas can also be found in Europe.
Cranberries are often used for higher quality jams, as a baking ingredient or juices and are finding their way increasingly more often into muesli products.
The high proportion of acids creates a distinctive, memorable, tart and acidic flavour. To dampen this somewhat for consumption, other sweetening ingredients are often added for the dried forms.
