Description
Coconut palms generally grow everywhere where there is a tropical climate. Coconuts belong to the drupe family. The largest producer is Indonesia, followed by the Philippines and India. In 2018, approximately 61.9 million tonnes of coconuts were harvested worldwide. Almost everywhere, coconuts are harvested and processed by hand. In Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, trained macaques are sometimes used. This violates general animal welfare regulations. Therefore, we do not buy these coconut products.
Coconut chips are cut out of the fruit flesh. After drying, there is hardly any residual moisture left. Therefore, coconut chips are enormously flavourful and refine many mixtures. Coconut chips are also obtained by this process.
We offer both roasted coconut chips and natural coconut chips – you also have the choice between sweetened and unsweetened roasted coconut chips. There are a variety of different ways to prepare the coconut, e.g., grated coconut. Contact us if you would like a different variation.
